Description

1.0 Description / Background The Government is conducting market research to identify interested and capable sources for the manufacturing of the T-38 Side Brace Trunnion Assembly, Part Number (PN) 202607928-10. The T-38 side brace trunnion is a critical subcomponent of the aircraft's main landing gear. It serves as a primary structural support during landing and other operational loads, enabling the main landing gear to fully extend and retract. This part is specific to the T-38 aircraft operational envelope. Please note: A formal Technical Data Package (TDP) is not yet available, as the drawings are in the final stages of approval. Specific quantities and delivery schedules have not yet been determined. 2.0 Required Capabilities To be considered a capable source for this requirement, respondents must demonstrate the ability to meet the following critical parameters: Manufacturing Equipment: Minimum 5-axis CNC machining capability. Material Sourcing & Machining: Capability to procure and machine Aluminum 7050-T7451. Precision Tolerances: Capability to machine contours and radii to tight tolerances, as small as 0.001 inch. Size Envelope: Capability to machine a part with an overall envelope of approximately 2 feet in length and 7 inches in diameter. CAD/CAM Utilization: Capability to utilize a SolidWorks .SLDPRT file to generate machining profiles. Special Processes: Capability to perform (or utilize an approved subcontractor for) the following post-machining processes: Shot peen Anodize Fluorescent penetrant inspection Certifications: Contractors and any utilized subcontractors must comply with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements. 3.0 Submission Instructions Interested parties who believe they possess the expertise and capabilities to fulfill this requirement are invited to submit a Capability Statement. The Capability Statement should be brief (no more than 5 pages) and must include: Company Information: Company Name, CAGE Code, UEI number, Point of Contact, address, phone number, and business size/socioeconomic status under the applicable NAICS code. Technical Capability: A summary of your company's capabilities specifically addressing each of the manufacturing and special process requirements listed in Section 2.0. Past Performance: Information on any past government or commercial contracts for parts involving similar materials, complexities, and manufacturing processes. 4.0 Disclaimer This Sources Sought notice is issued for informational and market research purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice; all costs associated with responding will be solely at the interested party’s expense.
