The De-icer trucks are turned into vehicle maintenance during the spring and summer months making it virtually impossible to stay proficient on the equipment. Additionally, training on live equipment is expensive and a waste POL resources. Once fielded, this vital asset will save the Air Force 1,000 gallons of de-icing fluid annually and significantly reduce aircraft mishap risks by ensuring our technicians are fully certified on equipment controls before operating around live assets. The customer requires an exact replica deicer simulator of their current operational deicer truck cabs. The current in use deicer trucks are Global Ground Support’s GL-1800 and G-2875ER.
