THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Acquisition & Property Management intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of: FAR 6.103-1 only one responsible source To WESTERN EQUIPMENT LLC 404 Frisco AVE Clinton, Oklahoma 73601, United States The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance, $12.5 The product service code (PSC) for this requirement is J038, MAINT/REPAIR/REBUILD OF EQUIPMENT- CONSTRUCTION/MI. The object of this sole source award to WESTERN EQUIPMENT LLC., is for repairs to a Government-owned 2018 John Deere 8370T tractor that sustained lightning damage to multiple electrical wiring harnesses and control modules. Western Equipment LLC, a local authorized John Deere dealer, was initially contacted to diagnose the damage and provide a repair estimate. During the diagnostic process, Western Equipment proceeded with additional repairs without authorization from a warranted Contracting Officer. No other source can provide the repairs already performed or assume responsibility for completing the ongoing repair effort without potential duplication of costs, additional disassembly or diagnostics, warranty complications, and delay in returning the tractor to service. The anticipated award date is September 15, 2026. This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation; however, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. If parties choose to respond, any cost associated with preparation and submission of data or any other cost incurred in response to this announcement are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
