Synopsis

The U.S. Department of State’s U.S. Embassy in Angola and Sao Tome e Principe is pleased to announce an open competition for past participants (“alumni”) of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). The Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) is an annual funding opportunity designed to invest in U.S. government-funded exchange participants and programs by helping alumni develop and implement projects that promote shared interests and policy objectives and benefit local communities. We invite you to submit proposals for projects that meet the requirements of the program (discussed in Section C). Please read this notice carefully before preparing and submitting a funding proposal. Please follow all instructions.

Who can apply

The following applicants are eligible to apply: • Proposed projects must involve at least two U.S. Government-sponsored exchange program alumni working as a team with one listed as a specified team lead. All alumni involved in the project will need to be identified as well as verified by the U.S. Embassy Luanda prior to submission of the project proposal. Any non-alumni team members must be included as well. • If three or more alumni are applying together, U.S. citizen alumni may be included on alumni teams, but the team must have at least two non-U.S. citizen exchange program alumni. U.S. citizen alumni cannot be team leads on project proposals.• Not-for-profit organizations, including think-tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations represented by U.S. Department of State exchange alumni.• U.S.-Angola Alumni Association (US3A) – Nicolau Miguel (Team Leader)
