Synopsis

This NOFO will make funding available to local public and private non-profit agencies within states that have chosen not to submit a state plan under the Title II Formula Grants program outlined in the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA). The funding must be used to carry out activities of the kinds described in the core requirements of the JJDPA: deinstitutionalization of status offenders (“DSO”), removal of juveniles charged as adults from adult facilities (“JCA”), separation of juveniles from adults inmates (“separation”), removal of juveniles from adult jails and lockups (“jail removal”), and identifying and reducing racial and ethnic disparities (“R/ED”).

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are limited to local public and private non-profit agencies (including Tribal agencies) in Connecticut, Texas, and Wyoming. Nonprofit organizations that hold money in offshore accounts for the purposes of avoiding paying the tax described in 26 U.S.C. 511(a) are not eligible to apply.
